Vector requirements, file formatting, and print prep standards.
Vector formats are required for crisp screen printing, embroidery, and high-density decoration: .AI (Adobe Illustrator), .EPS, or .PDF. All fonts MUST be converted to outlines/curves before upload.
If submitting raster files (.PNG, .PSD, .TIFF), assets must be created at 300 DPI at 100% physical print size with a transparent background. Low-resolution web images (72 DPI screenshots or web grabs) cannot be used for high-end print execution without vector reconstruction.
Specify exact Solid Coated Pantone (PMS) numbers for critical color matching. Digital proofs display colors in RGB screen space; physical prints are separated into spot colors or CMYK depending on the garment fabric.
Screen Print: Minimum stroke weight of 1pt (0.013 inch) for positive lines and 1.5pt for knockout text. Embroidery: Minimum text height of 0.25 inches (6mm) to prevent thread bundling.
LowTideFlow inspects every file before production. If artwork requires vector tracing or color separation cleanup, our technical art department will assist before hitting the print line.
